When anyone asks for your money or personal details, remember:

if it seems too good to be true, it usually is
do not feel pressurised to make a decision on the spot - think about it, get advice and report if you think it’s a scam
scammers may tell you to keep the offer a secret - get a second opinion from someone you trust if you are suspicious
research the reputation of the company before giving them any of your details
scammers will come across friendly – they are not your friend
no legitimate business will ask for money to claim a prize
say no to unwanted, uninvited callers
