Change the way you pay

Amending your instalment plan and setting it up on a date that suits you, we can offer any date between the first (1) and the twenty-eighth (28) of each month. Alternatively, you can set up a direct debit which gives you the option to pay on the first (1), eighth (8), fifteenth (15), twenty-first (21) and twenty-eighth (28) of the month.

To pay by Direct Debit, sign in or register for a BRUM account, select the Council Tax Online link, and follow the link to set up a direct debit.

Changing your monthly payment plan to a weekly or fortnightly payment plan. This change will help break down your monthly payments to an affordable weekly or fortnightly amount. If you default on your instalments, do not stop paying. Try paying as much as you can afford to bring the balance down.

To change your payment frequency or payment date, phone Customer Services on 0121 303 1113, or request to change the date online.

If you are employed, providing your employment details can increase the probability of setting up an agreeable payment plan.

Making a large one-off payment before setting up a payment plan increases your chances of lowering your overall plan payments.
