Help with heating your home

Winter fuel payments are available in the winter months. Pensioners can get between £100 and £300 to help pay their heating bills.

You may also be eligible for help to heat grants if you are a home owner-occupier.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS)

BUS is a grant to cover part of the cost of replacing fossil fuel heating systems with a heat pump or biomass boiler.

Fossil fuel heating systems include oil, gas, electric or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

You may qualify for a grant if you:

  • own the property you are applying for (this includes businesses, second homes, or properties rented out to tenants)
  • are replacing a fossil fuel heating system
