What is Shared Works

Shared Works is a free, secure online platform that helps homeowners apply for a Warm Homes Local Grant (WHLG). The new application form will be available soon.

It makes it easier to for us to coordinate the home upgrade process with you and your contractor.

Shared Works gives you a simple way to complete your WHLG application, stay informed throughout the process, and know what to expect next.

What you can do on Shared Works

  • Register your interest in WHLG and track your application.
  • Upload documents to check your eligibility.
  • Review the energy-saving measures proposed for your home.
  • Track the installation step by step and reschedule appointments if needed.

Why you should use Shared Works

Upgrading your home’s energy efficiency involves several steps and people, including the council, your contractor and you. Using Shared Works makes it simpler to manage.

Creating an account gives you:

  • a simple application form that collects everything we and contractor need
  • one place to find upgrade details, dates, documents, and guides
  • real-time updates so you always know what is happening
  • better coordination, as all parties use the same information
  • a way to securely message your contractor and our ECO team

How it works

Step 1: Apply

Fill in the WHLG application form. This will be available soon.

When you submit the form, you will be told how to access Shared Works. You will get an email to confirm your application.

Step 2: Upload documents

If we need documents to check your eligibility, Shared Works will tell you what to upload.

Once approved, you will get another confirmation email. Your assigned contractor will contact you by phone or email.

Step 3: Get your home assessed

Our approved contractor will visit to assess your property. You will be able to review the recommended upgrades and learn more about them on Shared Works.

Step 4: Approve the work

You can approve or reject the proposed work. If you approve, an installation date will be booked.

You can see the date on Shared Works and change it if needed.
