Appealing the cap

If you think the benefit cap shouldn’t affect you then you must speak to the benefits helpline, You will not be able to appeal solely against the application of the benefit cap.

You can appeal in respect of an award of housing benefit where the benefit cap has been applied. These appeals will be treated in the same way as any other appeal against the award of housing benefit.
