The East Birmingham Programme has a number of long-term objectives, as set out in the East Birmingham Inclusive Growth Strategy.
Our objectives
Improved transport and digital connectivity
Linking residents to:
- important employment opportunities
- essential services
- encourage business growth and connectivity
High quality housing
Providing housing across a range of tenures and housing types that:
- offer good value to residents
- are well located with access to employment and wider opportunities
Increased health and life expectancy
Improving health at all stages of life, particularly in early years, and with:
- more years spent in good health for all our residents
- fewer deaths due to preventable causes
Raising innovation, productivity, and entrepreneurship
The programme aims to achieve this by:
- providing new employment opportunities in East Birmingham and the surrounding area
- developing an education and skills system that helps residents to access high-quality jobs, with integrated public services delivering better local outcomes
Safe, affordable and accessible high-quality neighbourhoods
Providing residents with attractive and liveable spaces that will improve quality of life and satisfaction.
Sustainable solutions
Solutions Include:
- increasing biodiversity
- improving air quality
- reducing carbon emissions whilst advancing innovative solutions to retro fit existing housing
Our projects
The East Birmingham Inclusive Growth Programme has a wide variety of projects across the East Birmingham and North Solihull (EBNS) area. Many of these are led by our team.
We also support a wide variety of projects and initiatives led by our community partners.
These projects are generally divided into 3 areas, though there is cross-over with most of our projects:
