Resettlement
Since 2015 the council has been involved with Government’s fully funded resettlement schemes.
The Syrian Vulnerable Resettlement Scheme, SVPRS, came to a closure in 2021 and over 500 people have successfully built new lives in Birmingham through the programme.
BCC is currently participating in the Government’s UK Resettlement Scheme, UKRS, Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy, ARAP and the Afghan Citizen Resettlement Scheme, ACRS.
We also welcome people arriving in Birmingham through the Hong Kong British National Overseas visa.
The West Midlands Strategic Migration Partnership has created a Welcome Hub for BN(O) citizens to offer guidance and support to BN(O) citizens in the UK.
