Space for all

The Children's Library is a space for all children, young people and their parents/carers:

  • parent and baby rooms on the lower ground floor, with changing and feeding facilities
  • breast feeding-friendly throughout
  • changing facilities on levels 1 and 3

Lifts are available to take you to every floor; please note that for the safety of your child and others, we do not allow prams and buggies on the escalators or travelators. You can park buggies and prams in the designated area (ground floor).

For their safety, children under 12 years should be accompanied by a responsible person whilst in the building, including in the Children’s Library. If your child is under 12 years and you feel they are capable of using the library on their own, you should speak to the staff at your library. Library staff will use their discretion for children under 12 years if a child appears to be distressed or unable to be in the library on their own. Children under 8 years should be accompanied

Please ask us if you need any assistance. Staff wearing blue waistcoats are available to help.
