Getting help to cast your vote
You have the right to vote confidentially, but if you need assistance to cast your vote help may be available.
No one should enter the polling booth with you to influence how you vote, or watch you mark your vote if you are completing a postal vote.
Help to complete your ballot
If you need help to complete your ballot you can ask:
- polling station staff to help you
- a companion to help, but they will need to complete a form from polling station staff before they do
We also have a range of accessibility support available on polling day in polling stations, and you can request some types of support in advance or from polling station staff.
In the polling booth
In the polling booth you can:
- have the ballot paper read to you by scanning the QR code displayed in the booth for NaviLens
By request
You can request:
- your ballot paper in braille or large print
- for an accessible voting machine to be provided - if we do not know you need this in advance of polling day there may be a wait for it to arrive at your polling station
