Mayoral petition notice | Birmingham City Council

Mayoral petition notice

Regulations allow local electors to request a referendum on whether Birmingham City Council should move to a different form of governance, such as having an elected mayor.

To trigger a referendum, a petition must be signed by at least 5% of local government electors.

Each year we publish the minimum number of signatures needed for a valid petition.

You can view the latest notice of the number of signatures required.
