Areas maintained by the council

We maintain grass, shrub beds, flowerbeds and hedges on land owned by the council in:

  • parks and public open spaces
  • some selective communal gardens authorised by Housing Officers
  • highway verges
  • schools (where contracted)
  • warden-assisted schemes
  • allotments
  • selected areas within cemeteries and crematoria

We do not maintain grass, shrubs and hedges on land not owned by the council, such as:

  • housing trust areas
  • private land
  • private gardens and non-communal gardens in council houses
