Druids Heath community charter

We have drafted a community charter to help the Druids Heath community understand what their rights are and how we want to engage with the community throughout the regeneration project. A community charter is standard practice in any large regeneration project and is designed to give residents assurance around what they are entitled to.

The document sets out the Council's offer and commitments to the Druids Heath community to give all stakeholders an opportunity to engage and are fully included in the process.

The charter sets out:

  • what the regeneration will set out to achieve for Druids Heath based on initial consultation with the community over the last 2 years
  • how the council will engage and listen to the community throughout the course of the regeneration scheme, taking into consideration this hasn’t always happened in the right way in the past
  • a summary of what the Council has learnt over the last few years through previous engagement with the community
  • the different offers provided to the community based on the type of home that they live in, or whether they own businesses or work in community services
  • details of the team supporting the regeneration scheme and where members of the community can go to for support

The charter is only in draft form, this means that you have an opportunity to tell us what you like and what you don’t like so we can make changes and issue a final document that is in line with what the community wants.

We are encouraging comments from the whole community. We want the community to have a genuine stake in how this regeneration project progresses and this is one of the opportunities we are taking to make sure we hear from as many of you as possible.

If you need help completing the survey, you can let us know by phoning 0121 216 1002 and we can help you to complete this.

Survey

Once you’ve had chance to look through the Druids Heath community charter we are inviting you to complete a survey so that you can give us your feedback.

We know that some people may find it difficult to complete a survey like this and we will make sure colleagues will visit face to face where possible, if you are finding this difficult. You can phone the contact centre on 0121 216 1002 if you need support.

We know that some of you will prefer to see us face to face and would like to spend some more time talking to us in detail about the charter. We have set up a series of workshops which will be facilitated by independent advisers Loconomy, to talk through your feedback in more detail.

Workshops

These workshops are not drop-in sessions . You will need to book a place on the workshop relevant to you. These workshops are being held to talk in detail about the charter, what it means for the community and to help people to give their feedback.

These workshops won’t be able to give information on what the estate might look like or whose homes might be affected as that is still being considered at the moment. We know you are keen to know more about this and we will get information out to you as soon as we can.

Workshops are scheduled as follows:
