Self and Custom Build Register

Purpose of the register

As of 1 April 2016, local planning authorities are required to keep a register of individuals and associations who are looking for a serviced plot of land in their area for self build or custom housebuilding.

Self build and custom housebuilding registers provide valuable information on the demand for self build and custom housebuilding in the local area. This information can help us to make decisions on planning, land disposal and regeneration going forward. The register is not for the purpose of contacting those on it with available plots of land.
