Arranging your visit

Your school group is welcome to visit any time during library opening hours.

If you want to use specific books and resources, book your visit in advance.

We will then tell you if other groups, schools or nurseries have already booked for the same day or time and confirm your visit.

If your visit includes borrowing library books, each child or adult will need to bring their library card.

If anyone in your group does not have a library card, complete the self-registration form before your visit. This will generate a ‘SelfReg’ number. To get your library card, give this number to library staff.

Permission from the parent or guardian is needed to request a library card for children aged 15 or under.

The registration form is for all ages and can be used by anyone who needs to join Birmingham Libraries.
