Capacity and groups

The visiting group capacity for the Children’s Library is approximately 90. This can be a combination of year and class groups (30 to 60) and smaller groups (less than 30) from one or more school/organisations. Class sizes of 30 to 40 are recommended.

If the capacity is reached we will be unable to book any further groups in to visiting the Children’s Library. This is to ensure the health and safety of our users and that the building capacity for the Library of Birmingham is not exceeded. This also includes groups who arrive without first registering.

The Children's Library is a space for all children, young people and their parents/carers.
