Apply to hold an event in a park
Birmingham’s parks and public open spaces are a great place to hold your public event. We have hosted fetes, carnivals, funfairs, charity events, races and more.
Please refer to the scale of charges for your event at your chosen park
Any organised outdoor event will need permission, especially when it involves:
- large groups of people
- equipment or structures
Normally your event must be open to the general public, but you can charge people to attend. Private functions, such as weddings and corporate events, are sometimes allowed in some parks.
Event planning must comply with the latest UK Government and industry guidance.
Your application must state how you will comply with social distancing guidance and prevent a mass gathering from taking place.

Apply in advance
If you’d like to hold an event in a park you need to apply for permission at least 12 weeks before your event. We recommend that you don’t advertise your event until you have gained written confirmation from us that your event can go ahead.
