Parking bay suspensions
We can suspend restrictions on parking bays if needed, for example for building work or to support traffic flow.

Costs must be paid before suspension starts. You must give us at least 48 hours' notice for us to consider granting a parking bay suspension.

If you need parking bay suspensions within the City Centre Controlled Parking Zones, contact the Parking team.
Parking bay suspensions outside these zones may need a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO). To arrange this, contact our Highways Traffic Management Team.
Parking dispensations
A parking dispensation allows a vehicle to park on some restrictions (residents/business permit bays, limited wait bays and loading bays only) when essential. This means there must be a clear reason why the vehicle needs to park at the requested location and no suitable alternative parking is available.
The cost is £23.90 per vehicle, per day.
You must give us at least 48 hours’ notice. When we consider your request, we will review the possible effects on traffic flow and the availability of suitable parking in the area.
All dispensations are granted at the discretion of Birmingham City Council.
