Parking bay suspensions
We can suspend restrictions on parking bays if necessary (for example, for building work or for aiding traffic flow).

Costs are payable in advance of the suspension. We need at least 48 hours' notice to consider granting a parking bay suspension.

If you require parking bay suspensions within the City Centre Controlled Parking Zones, contact the Parking team. Parking bay suspensions outside of these areas may require the introduction of a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) you will need to contact our Highways Traffic Management Team.
Parking dispensations
A parking dispensation allows a vehicle to park on some restrictions (residents/business permit bays, limited wait bays and loading bays only) where this parking is essential i.e. there is a compelling reason for the vehicle to be parked at the requested location and there is no suitable alternative legitimate parking available.
The cost is £20 per vehicle, per day.
You must provide at least 48 hours’ notice to allow sufficient time to consider the granting of a parking dispensation. When making our decision, we’ll review possible effects on traffic flow and the availability of suitable parking in the area.
In all cases, the granting of a parking dispensation will be at the discretion of Birmingham City Council.
