Our role and responsibilities
We receive funding from the Home Office for families that arrive through all official resettlement schemes.
This funding is used to commission services and activities required to help each family settle, integrate and thrive in Birmingham.
During their first year in the city, resettled refugees are supported with:
- applying for private rented sector housing
- enrolment in local schools
- navigating through applications for welfare and benefits
- registering with a GP and accessing the NHS and other health services
- city orientation
- access to English language learning
The Refugee and Migrant Centre (RMC) delivers these services on our behalf.
