Advice on holiday

Holidays are usually safe and enjoyable.

In rare situations, an emergency may happen while you are travelling or back home.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) provides travel advice for British nationals overseas.

Before you travel, check the latest advice for the country you are visiting. This includes:

• safety and security information
• health advice
• what to do in an emergency

Check foreign travel advice on GOV.UK before you travel.

If you are travelling away from home, let someone you trust know:

• where you are going
• how long you will be away
• how they can contact you

Check in with them regularly by text or telephone so they know you are safe.
