Advice on holiday

Holidays are something to look forward to and enjoy. However, on extremely rare occasions a natural disaster, act of terrorism, political unrest or conflict can happen in the country you are visiting or back home.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) is responsible for British nationals overseas.

If you are planning a visit to another city or country, or travelling to several places for a specified period of time, check in by text or phone on a regular basis so they know you are safe.
