Genealogical research
Genealogical research, the act of tracing your family history can be fascinating, but it requires method and careful attention. It often involves using libraries and record offices across the country.
On Level 4, the Archives, Heritage and Photography section has a large collection of resources to help you research families from the Birmingham area, and some material for people from other places.
All archive items, historic photographs, older books, and fragile materials are kept in the Wolfson Centre for Archival Research. To use the Wolfson Centre, you must book a session in advance and order the items you want to see. You will also need an Archives Card.
