Calling all schools
We know that your pupils are producing some fantastic artwork so why not share it with all our visitors at the Library of Birmingham?
We have a big display board in the Children’s Library, and we would love to see your work displayed there.
Read our guidelines below and email Childrens.Library@Birmingham.gov.uk if you would like to make use of the display board. You’ll need to tell us:
- Dates you’d like it displayed, and
- What the theme is
We will then discuss your request with you and any other considerations.
Guidelines for displays
Here are some things to think about before you make your application:
- our display board is not available for use by commercial organisations
- your display must meet the Library of Birmingham’s objectives, that is to say, “the display must be related to work with children, young people and families. These groups and/or their service providers should be involved in creating the display”
- displays may remain in place for no longer than half a term
- think about laminating your display materials or using a card A4 to make them more durable
- display board is approximately 122cm tall and 245cm wide, use background paper and contrasting border
- do not use pins, or anything else which could cause injury to small hands, to attach materials to the backing paper. We can lend you a staple gun for the purpose
- include a little background information to say how and/or why you created the display and give the name of your school
- if your children put their names on the work, make sure that you only use their first names
- after your preferred end day, your display will be taken down and no display materials will be kept
Note that we cannot accept any responsibility for loss of, or damage to, display materials that you submit to us.
