Temporary accommodation charges
You are responsible for the charges for your temporary housing. If you are on a low income, you may be entitled to housing benefit payments towards this cost. It is your responsibility to claim this.
Failure to pay
Failure to pay for your housing may result in you losing it. If the council has a full housing duty towards you, this may end if you lose your temporary housing due to arrears.
This means that we will no longer have a duty to find you permanent housing, and you will need to find your own.
If you are at risk of not paying, you must contact the Temporary Accommodation Income Recovery Team on 0121 675 5535.
