Rough sleepers outreach team
Birmingham's rough sleepers outreach team work to address the issue of rough sleeping and begging. Its approach is based on 3 key strands – engage, educate, and enforce.
They work together with staff from:
- Trident Reach
- Change Grow Live
- Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust
- West Midlands Police
- St Basils
- Spring Housing
- Cranstoun
- Birmingham City Council
Their work involves:
- sharing information daily to provide the best responses for individuals
- providing better connections and communication between on-street partners and services
- providing services tailored to individuals who need them
- promoting Change into Action as an alternative to giving money to those who are begging
