About the CPD programme

Ideally suited to key stage 2, these campaigns support school staff in teaching the importance of clean air and road safety. This learning then goes home through a homework book packed with fun, colourful, effective educational content and puzzles, helping children and parents to better understand issues around the causes of air pollution, how it affects our health and what we can do to help make the air clean. The session is available to school teaching staff, governors, parent network groups and community champions.

By attending a FREE CPD session, schools will receive:

  • A practical toolkit including a lesson plan, a PowerPoint presentation and signposting to some useful resources that can provide a foundation in the classroom for the children to learn more about air pollution and road safety
  • FREE parental engagement homework books for a chosen year group (ideally suited to key stage 2)
  • The opportunity to sign up to a free air quality monitoring programme with Public Health England

Attendance at these sessions will also count towards your school’s Modeshift STARS accreditation.

If you need a little extra support with Modeshift STARS, we also offer free training sessions on ‘Getting Started with Modeshift STARS’ and ‘Moving on to Accreditation’. In order to share knowledge and best practise, we aim to deliver training sessions to groups of schools in local clusters. Please let us know if your school could host one of these sessions.
