Apply for a premises licence or notify us of changes (Gambling Act 2005)

You must already hold, or have applied for, a Gambling Commission operating licence before applying for a premises licence.

The operating licence must be for the type of gambling facility you want to provide, such as betting, bingo, casino or arcade.

How to apply

You can apply for a premises licence if you have the right to occupy the premises and hold a valid operating licence.

Apply for a provisional statement if:

New applications, provisional statements and variations to change the layout of existing premises must:

include any plans relating to the licence change
give notice of the application to each responsible authority
display a public notice on the premises for 28 days
display a notice every 50 metres around the premises if the frontage is more than 50 metres
include the appropriate fee

If your application is for a boat or ship, use a vessel form instead of a standard form.

Complete the relevant application form, add a scanned copy of your signature and email it to licensing@birmingham.gov.uk.

After we receive your application, a licensing officer will contact you to arrange payment of the appropriate fee.

We cannot accept payment by cheque or postal order.
