Community activities in a park

You must tell us about all your organised community and volunteering activities in any of our parks.

Specific permission events

If your organised outdoor events involves any of the following:

  • large groups of people (over 100 people expected to attend)
  • events equipment or structures (gazebos and generators etc.)
  • music
  • sales of food

You will need specific permission for each event and may also require licenses etc. so you will need to apply for this type of event using our holding an event in a park online form.

Regular community events and activities

For small community activities such as gardening, conservation days, walks and litter picks community groups can use the Community and Volunteering Activities form to tell us about activities for the whole year.

What you need to consider before applying:

  • You must have public liability insurance.
  • You will need to give us at least 6 weeks' notice before starting your activities. Please do not advertise your activities until you have written confirmation from us that your activities can go ahead.
  • Normally your activity must be open to the public, but you can charge people to attend.
  • Activity planning must comply with current UK Government and industry guidance.
