Pitch maintenance

Football and rugby pitches are remarked weekly during the winter allowing for additional maintenance such as over seeding, pitch spiking etc. Posts are usually removed and repainted at the end of the season.

During the summer, Council cricket grounds and bowling greens are regularly maintained by our groundsmen. Our golf courses are also carefully maintained throughout the year.  

You can report problems such as:

• markings not done or done poorly
• goal posts missing or not put up
• grass not cut
• uneven or damaged pitches
• poor quality grass / pitch repair

We only provide goal posts for Council football pitches and for those sites that are booked for games through Sport Birmingham.
