Inter-library loans
Birmingham Libraries is not part of the OCLC (formerly WorldCat) system for inter-library loan requests.
We will try to source books that Birmingham residents need but are not held by Birmingham libraries. We will charge the appropriate fee when we supply them.
You can also request photocopies of articles from journals, magazines and other periodicals. The appropriate fee will be charged when you make the request.
To request an inter-library loan you must be:
- a registered member of Birmingham libraries
- a Birmingham resident, or someone who regularly works or studies in Birmingham
If you are a higher education student, contatct your university or college library first for anything related to your coursework.
