Help for LGBT+ survivors
Call 999 or go to your local police station for immediate help if you or someone else is in danger or a crime is in progress. If you are unable to speak, 999 operators can still connect you to police. The operator will listen for background noises. Find out how to make silent 999 calls.

Domestic abuse can happen within LGBTQ+ relationships, and LGBTQ+ survivors may need specialist support.
LGBTQ+ survivors of domestic abuse may experience an abuser using tactics specific to their romantic or sexual orientation or gender identity, such as:
- threatening to disclose your orientation, identity, history or HIV status without your consent
- undermining your orientation and/or identity
- isolating you from the LGBTQ+ community
- withholding or hiding hormones or gender-affirming medicine
