Access to free books

Bookstart gifts a free book pack to every baby born in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. It helps children aged 5 and under get a good start with their reading.

School holiday activities

Free holiday clubs can have a positive impact on children and young people.

They help:

  • children from lower-income households experience different activities in school holidays
  • reduce money pressure on families

Bring it on Brum, also known as Birmingham Holiday Activities (BHA)

Bring it on Brum is a programme for families in Birmingham.

This programme is for:

  • families with children on benefits related to free school meals
  • children with additional needs.

This programme provides families with the equivalent of 6 weeks’ holiday provision.
