Local food justice legends

The Birmingham Food Revolution has been in the making for a long time.

Many individuals, charities, organisations and business go above and beyond to make sure the citizens of Birmingham have:

  • access to food
  • places to cook and eat
  • the ability to make the most of the food system

Discover some of our Local Food Justice Legends:

  • Food Justice Network – A coalition of more than 200 community groups supporting residents in need and campaigning to end food poverty, inequalities and injustices.
  • Incredible Surplus – Originally established in 2014 as The Real Junk Food Project Birmingham, Incredible Surplus intercept food and other usable materials that would otherwise go to waste from supermarkets, restaurants and other sources. They provide them to individuals and community organisations on a “pay-as-you-feel” basis.
  • FareShare – A national network of charitable food redistributors, reducing food waste and supporting charities and community groups.
