Work continues to progress on the A34 Perry Barr Highway Scheme, with block paving installed in front of the Probation Centre. The footpath is complete at the One Stop Shopping Centre (Northern access). The new bridge at Birchfield is now structurally finished. As part of the continuing work, we will be changing the traffic management currently in place.

From Friday 28 January 2022:

• There will be a new road layout southbound on the A34 at Harrier Way, with traffic bound for the City Centre heading straight on.
• The slip road from the A453 southbound to the A34 underpass will be closed.

Through routes will be signposted, and regular road users should be alert to the possible need to be in a different lane to the one they have become accustomed to.

If you use these routes, plan and allow more time for your journey or use an alternative route.
