Tender for supported living and care homes with and without nursing care
CQC-registered care providers are invited to apply to join our contractual arrangements for supported living and care homes with and without nursing care using the CareMatch Portal.
The 2023 contract is for providers wishing to make new offers of service between 24 April 2023 and April 2028.

Applying without a current CQC rating
If you are a CQC-registered supported living provider without a current CQC rating and want to apply to our Flexible Contracting Arrangement (FCA) for care homes (with or without nursing services) and supported living services, you should know that:
- we prioritise Quality Monitoring Visits based on the level of risk presented by existing contracted providers
- there is currently an oversupply of supported living providers in Birmingham, so quality assessments for new applicants are a lower priority
- we cannot guarantee when we will carry out a Quality Monitoring Visit
- we may put your application on hold until we can complete a quality assessment
- if your application remains on hold for a long time, we may reject it to make sure the information you provided is still accurate and up to date
- the supported living contract is an open Flexible Contracting Arrangement, so you can apply again at any time
- if you reapply, we still cannot guarantee when we will carry out a Quality Monitoring Visit
Applications from supported living providers without a current CQC rating may take longer to process because quality assessments are dependent on available resources and competing priorities. You should consider this before applying.
Tender for home support and quick discharge services
On 9 April 2024, CQC-registered care providers were invited to apply to join our FCA for the provision of home support and quick discharge services using the CareMatch Portal.
This tender is currently closed.
The contract started on 12 August 2024 for 5 years, with the option to extend by 2 more years. We reserve the right to reopen the FCA for one or more geographical areas or citywide where we consider that additional provision is required.
Examples of the reasons are:
- a lack of sufficient provision for the geographical area
- for the requirements of the services for children
- poor performance
If the contract reopens, providers will be notified via the weekly care services providers' bulletins, which are issued by email. The bulletin can also be viewed on the Care services providers' bulletin.

Tender for the provision of home support for sensory loss
CQC-registered care providers were invited on 3 January 2023 to apply to join our contractual arrangements for the provision of home support services for sensory loss via the CareMatch Portal.
