Adult learn to ride
Learn to ride is a high quality cycle training course for anyone aged 18 or over who lives in Birmingham.
To take part, you will need a Leisure Card and a Wellbeing Card. Both cards are free and available from Wellbeing Centres.
Learn to Ride follows the National Standard for cycle training guidelines and delivers training for cyclists of all skill levels - from complete beginners to cyclists wishing to ride on the road.
You can bring your own bike or borrow one. If you need to borrow a bike, let us know when booking.
We strongly advise that you buy a helmet before attending.
Courses
Level 1
Held on traffic-free training sites, level 1 will help you improve your riding control skills, including learning to pedal if necessary.
If you have never ridden a bike before or need to get your confidence back, level 1 is for you.
Level 2
If you can confidently ride and control your bike, it’s time for level 2.
Sessions take place on the road. You will learn about road positioning, signalling, hazards and more.
