Led rides

Led rides give you the opportunity to explore by bike with a trained ride leader who will lead and supervise the group. They are a great way to develop your cycling skills, make new friends, and discover more of your local area.

To help you find the best ride for you, we use three ride grades:

  • Easy going
Not cycled for a while and looking for an easy way to get back in the saddle? Fancy a fun way to get your friends or kids riding? Easy going rides are great for building confidence for all abilities on relaxed, mostly traffic-free routes. They’re up to 6 miles long, with a gentle pace of around 6 miles an hour.
  • Steady
If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
  • Challenging
You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins, but you’ll need to know your way around a bike and be fairly fit to take part in challenging rides. If you’re comfortable riding with other people and fancy a fresh challenge, these rides are perfect for you. They start at around 20 miles long, and are paced at between 11 and 12 miles an hour.

If you are under 18, you must bring and wear a helmet. We strongly recommend that adults bring and wear helmets.
