Short term (day) bike hire

Free daily bike hire is available to adults with a Birmingham City Council Leisure Card at some of our cycle centres. People aged 17 and under may also hire a bike, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and be able to safely ride an adult bike.

To access the bikes for the first time, take your Leisure Card to a participating cycle centre with proof of identification and recent proof of address (e.g. a utility bill from the last three months). You will be required to sign a Hire Agreement, then the centre staff will activate your Big Birmingham Bikes membership.

You will then just need your Leisure Card every time you borrow a bike.

Bikes must be returned by the time specified by that centre, usually one hour before the centre closes. These bikes may not be kept overnight. Bikes are issued on a one bike per membership basis.
