Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)

Birmingham Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub is a fully integrated multi-agency team which involves key safeguarding agencies including professionals from social care, police, health and education. It enables the multi-agency team to appropriately review their information systems, share all appropriate information in a secure environment, and ensure that the most appropriate response is provided to effectively safeguard and protect the child.

The team focuses on receiving referrals for children believed to be at risk of significant harm, including domestic abuse. Each agency within the MASH has access to their own systems and share information as appropriate with key partners.

The team jointly discuss and assess the risk and needs of the child and agree what action needs to be taken.
