If your application is successful

If your application is successful at the interview stage, we will:

  • issue you with a chaperone licence
  • send you a chaperone ID card

We will also ask you to pay the £25 application processing fee.

If your application is unsuccessful

  • you will received feedback on areas that require improvement
  • rebook a second interview within 4 weeks of initial interview

Should the second interview unsuccessful you will not be able to re-apply for 3 months following your second interview.

How long your licence is valid for

Your chaperone licence is valid for up to 3 years.

Annual checks

We will check your Enhanced DBS status on the DBS Update Service each year with a team’s call with a member of the team.

We may revoke your licence based on:

  • your DBS status
  • concerns about the welfare and safeguarding of a child
  • changes in your personal circumstances
