Training requirements
There are 2 online training courses you must complete before becoming a licensed chaperone.
We will ask you to upload your certificates when you apply. Training certificates need to be dated within the 6-month period of the application date.
'NSPCC Protecting children in entertainment' course
Protecting children in entertainment training for chaperones is an online course hosted by NSPCC Learning. It will help you understand the legal requirements you have towards keeping children safe in entertainment.
The course takes 1 hour to complete.
Costs are detailed on the NSPCC website.
'Right Help, Right Time' safeguarding course
Right Help, Right Time (RHRT) is an online course hosted by Birmingham Safeguarding Children Partnership. It provides essential guidance for anyone who works with children, young people and their families in Birmingham.
This course is currently under review and is unavailable.
You will still be asked questions on the RHRT guidance in your chaperone interview.
When filling out your application, you should put your NSPCC training information in place of the RHRT information.
