How to apply

The application process can take up to 2 weeks from submission to approval, but could take longer if we need to ask you for additional information.

Applications cost £25.

Before you start

To complete the application you will need:

  • your Enhanced DBS certificate number - this has 12 digits and starts with 00
  • your Enhanced DBS issue date
  • certificates to show you have completed both chaperone training courses
  • a recent passport-style photo that shows your entire head and shoulders
  • the name and email addresses of 2 referees. They cannot be members of your family and must have known you for at least 2 years

You must also agree to the council checking your licence each year.

You will receive a confirmation email containing:

  • your chaperone licence application reference number
  • details about the next steps

We will also ask you to pay the £25 application processing fee.
