Report a concern about a child in work or entertainment
Any adult (aged 18 and over) can report a concern about the safety and welfare of a child in work (paid or voluntary) or entertainment, including:
- family members
- friends or neighbours
- members of the public
- workers supporting children or families in a voluntary or professional capacity
If you are aged under 18 and believe you are at risk, you should contact Childline on 0800 11 11.
If a child is at risk of immediate or significant harm
Contact West Midlands Police on 999.
If you are concerned about a child’s safety and welfare in work (paid or voluntary) or entertainment
You should report a concern about a child to our child employment team if:
- they are working in an unsafe environment
- they are working in a role that is unsuitable for their age or ability
- you have concerns about someone’s behaviour (for example, a chaperone who is looking after the child while at work)
You can also tell us if you believe an employer or organisation:
- does not have the correct licences and permits
- is not meeting its legal duties and responsibilities
You can also report a concern by phoning 0121 303 890.
