Pub and live music venue relief

A new pub and live music venue relief has been announced, effective from 1 April 2026.

Who is eligible for the relief and do you need to apply?

If you are eligible, we will apply the relief automatically to your 2026 / 2027 annual bill.

To be eligible for the pub and live music relief, your venue must:

  1. be open to the general public
  2. allow free entry, other than when occasional entertainment is provided
  3. allow drinking without requiring food to be consumed
  4. permit drinks to be purchased at a bar

What you will get

Eligible businesses will benefit from a 15% business rates relief on top of the support announced at Budget 2025 for the 2026 / 2027 financial year.

The bills will then be frozen in real terms for a further 2 years.

How to apply

If you occupy a property and believe you are eligible for the relief, complete our online application form.
