Written evidence and deferred entry form

Written evidence

You will need to forward written evidence of the school's decision as soon as the outcome is known. After you send the written evidence, School Admissions and Fair Access Service can record the outcome and process your child's application.

Send requests for deferred entry to community and voluntary controlled schools and notifications of requests submitted directly to the schools concerned by email to deferredentry@birmingham.gov.uk.

Deferred entry form

To assist us with your request for your child to be granted deferred entry to school, you must complete the Deferred entry form by the national closing date.

Complete the deferred entry form

For transferring to secondary school, the closing date is 31 October 2023. For transferring to reception, the closing date is 15 January 2024.

Deferred entry forms completed after the national closing date will delay the deferment process.
