What does it mean for me?

Following our public consultation, we plan to give some people more time to prepare for the Clean Air Zone with short term exemptions from the charges, and hope to offer additional support to some people who would find it more difficult to make the change away from a more polluting vehicle.

Conditions will apply.

Full details are available on our #brumbreathes website.

To avoid paying the Clean Air Zone charge you may want to consider upgrading your vehicle.

If you are considering buying a new car, you should consider the costs over the lifetime of the vehicle. The upfront cost of a diesel or petrol car may be lower than that of an equivalent electric vehicle, but the cost of running an electric car is much lower. The Government also subsidise purchases of some electric vehicles and offer grants for installing home charging points.
