Proposed Ward Action Plan timeline

Engagement and discussion: July to September 2022

Use different approaches to engage with people across the ward. Residents, councillors and local stakeholders all need to understand not only the needs and challenges across the ward, but also the opportunities and aspirations.

Use the Ward Data Profile to support conversations and note down topics and suggestions for the development stage. Think about different ways to ensure a wide range of voices are engaged and heard.

Development and adoption: October to December 2022

Plan a series of sessions using ward forum meetings and ward planning meetings to build on previous conversations.

Use the Ward Action Plan template to develop priorities, goals and actions.

Think about the local resource available and whether the goals are achievable at a local level.

Which groups and organisations need to be involved, and who will ensure that the plan is used and reviewed.

Understand that the plan is intended to be flexible and functional, so it can change as needed along the way.

Submission: Monday 16 January 2023

Ward councillor(s) – in their local leadership role – will submit the first iteration of the Ward Action Plan on behalf of the ward.

Action, review, update and revise – keeping the momentum: February 2023 to January 2026

Use ward forum meetings (x4 per year) and ward planning meetings (x2 per year) to regularly review and update progress with your plan.

The plan is intended to be flexible and functional, so you can revise priorities, goals and actions as needed along the way.

Review, reflect and plan for 2026 to 2030: February to April 2026

Take the time to review and reflect on the progress made since the plan was developed. Celebrate the achievements and note the learning.

How can this be best communicated across the ward? Start thinking about 2026 to 2030.

Where can the work and collaborations continue?

What are the challenges, needs, opportunities and aspirations, looking ahead?
