Proposals for 4G and 5G small cell and cabinet sites outside Conservation Areas can be ‘de minimus’ or ‘permitted development’ under the Permitted Development Order.

On this basis only a 28 day ‘prior notification’ needs to be submitted.

Planning permission or prior approval is more likely to be required in conservation areas.
