Notice to all tenants occupying Birmingham City Council owned commercial property
From early November, all commercial tenants occupying space owned by Birmingham City Council will begin to receive their quarterly rent and service charge invoices due from the June quarter day. Invoices for June to September 2022 will be issued first, followed by those due for September to December 2022. Further invoices for December 2022 to March 2023 will be issued early in the New Year. The invoicing cycle will return to normal for March to June 2023.
We acknowledge the late issuing of rent invoices may have caused tenants some anxiety and concern, and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
We recognise some tenants continued to pay their rent and service charge without having received an invoice. Once invoices are issued, those payments will be reconciled within the payment system. Should you have any concerns about the invoices you receive, please contact the relevant team to clarify and resolve any issues which may have arisen.
Any tenant who needs to discuss arrangements around paying their rent and service charge is encouraged to make contact upon receipt of their invoices using the contact numbers and email addresses provided.
Property services provide property opportunities across Birmingham for business tenants, prospective landowners and developers. This is achieved through the management and letting of council-owned commercial land and buildings, including shops, offices, industrial units, warehouses, business parks and car parks.
If you are looking to rent retail premises, an office in the city centre, an individual or small business unit, a workshop in the Jewellery Quarter or something more specialised we may have the property for you.
To support economic activity and as the catalyst for growth we dispose of properties and assets which are surplus to the Council's requirements. These include commercial, industrial and mixed-use sites, non-commercial properties, houses, former schools, care homes and libraries for development and regeneration.
If you are an established large scale developer or first time entrepreneur, we have development opportunities from half an acre to 10 acres and more.
The dedicated Property Services website is currently undergoing a complete overhaul and re-design. A temporary site will be available shortly.
