What does this mean for our communities?

The Council aims to work with local community partners who work with our communities and also commercial organisations such as connectivity providers and other partners in order to:

  1. bring together and co-ordinate existing activities that are helping citizens in doing things online
  2. identify issues faced by our communities
  3. put into place support packages and interventions for all citizens

We will work with our partners to support you in getting online:

  • build trust and motivation in citizens to be confident online
  • help with choosing and setting up equipment and provide basic learning
  • increase opportunities for social networking so citizens can keep in touch with friends and family
  • improve employment opportunities through clearer learning pathways
  • financial savings such as devices and connectivity

This activity of work is currently being defined and further updates will be made available to our citizens from April 2022.
