The Deep Engagement Partner (DEP) programme will run from 2024 to 2027. It aims to tackle health inequalities in Birmingham's communities.
What the programme will do
The DEP programme will:
- increase awareness of community experiences of health and wellbeing
- improve health literacy in communities
- enable communities to control and lead their own programmes
- make sure communities have a voice in helping shape strategy and policy development
- use existing community assets and strengths to find solutions for health and wellbeing needs
What partners will deliver each year
DEP partners will:
- run four focus groups on health inequalities in their communities
- deliver four cultural competency training sessions for health and social care staff
- carry out a health inequality project to support communities
- attend five council partnership meetings - including the new “Communities of Identity” partnership
