Meet the Somali DEP

Allies Network CIC is a social enterprise established in 2008 and incorporated in 2014. Their mission is to empower ethnic minority communities, predominantly African and Arab, through access to quality education. They are dedicated to helping individuals transform their lives and escape poverty for good.

Through their various initiatives, they have created opportunities to connect these communities with mainstream institutions and services.

Their work includes:

  • the BLACHIR community engagement partner for the African Communities
  • collaboration with BSol system partners
  • one-on-one advice and guidance
  • culturally sensitive counselling
  • Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) awareness workshops
  • job and skills training
  • strategic representation on the VCFSE Mental Health Collective

As part of the DEP programme they want to focus on enhancing digital skills, improving health and wellbeing, and supporting Somali communities.

Through community engagement projects and programmes, they foster intergenerational dialogue and work with anchor institutions to drive positive systematic change.
